A native shrub, Allegheny serviceberry is a multiple-trunked tree or large shrub with smooth gray bark that reaches 15-30 feet tall. In the spring, white flowers appear before the leaves open providing early season nourishment for pollinators. Allegheny Serviceberry is a host plant for the Easter Tiger Swallowtail butterfly and is a favorite source of berries for birds.
